This class is especially for those of you who have taken
almost all my classes. In doing customer quilts sometimes inspiration hits and
there are new designs. I decided to put these into their own class. This is a
collection of designs that can be for blocks, sashings, borders and
overalls.These are simple designs with
a lot of "POW" for customer quilts. Let's get those quilts done in an efficient
time and have happy customers.

~ Border Patrol (6hr hands onWednesday) $150 ~
If
you are tired of turning your quilts to do the borders then this class is for
you. I have developed many free-motion designs to do around the quilt without
taking the time to turn my quilts. Learn over 25 designs that you will be able
to do plus several variations to take home to practice. You will learn how to
space the border so that it is evenly spaced and how to treat your corners so
you can easily go around to the sides. These designs are simple, beautiful and
with little set up time.This class is

~ Fun with Threads (3hr hands on Thursday Morning) $50
Thread work with the machine is so amazing! I will show you how to make fabric out of thread on the longarm but that is only the beginning. Learn how to make free motion embroidery to apply on your quilt, ribbon work on your quilt with thread and couching larger yarns. We will also play with putting stuff under netting and stitching over it. Then it is only up to your imagination what can be done with all the techniques.

I have a power point presentation along with a trunk
showand I will explain the following:
What to look for in stencils to build a versatile stencil
stash
How to look for inner less prominent designs to double the
stencil collection at hand.
How to fit stencils into areas of the quilt.
How to adapt hand quilting stencils to machine quilting.
How to add free motion to stencils to adapt them to areas or
styles of the quilt.
We will practice with some practice blocks and stencilsfor fitting the stencils as well as being
creative with them.
I will show how to fit a border stencil in a border with out
the math and some tricks if it doesn't want to fit.

In this class we are going to hit the cotton quilting
"freehand Style". Jamie will cover his original allover designs for
edge to edge, including His trademark, "Flurry of Angels"

many others. We will then take these designs to the High-End custom
quilting level with related block and sash designs.

covering new designs with our focus on paisleys, flowers, leaves, and

much more to play with.

With this advanced "Threadfusion" class Jamie will cover
Portraiture techniques and quilting for the portrait art quilter. We
will discuss using fabric inks and dyes for creating a base, and discuss
using projectors and photos for those fearful of their own art skills. Then
over to the machine for instruction for texture techniques to bring your
portrait art quilt to life. If you've wanted to use your Longarm to create
realistic fur, feathers, draped clothing, and realistic facial features and
skin texture, then this class is for you.

Irena Bluhm Classes
~ Background Designs
and Allovers (6hr hands on Tuesday) $150 ~
Say goodbye to any conventional way of using stippling to
fill in negative spaces on any quilt. This very unique, easy to understand
and easy to execute technique will have your creative juices flowing, as you
can add your own twist to Irena’s ideas. From very dense to allover, this
technique is very forgiving and the visual effects are very impressive. No
planning ahead and no marking of the background designs are required.
You will be impressed by how many shapes of feathers you can
create using your own imagination and creativity. During this class you will
learn how to make charming looking feather swags, fill any triangle, square,
rectangular, round, oval, or just any odd shape on any quilt using these
charming and easy to execute feathers. After this class, you would be able to
use your own imagination and create some feathers of your own by adding a twist
to Irena's ideas. No more of being stumped with how do I quilt this? after the
class is over. The best from all: these feathers are easier than the formal

Quilts of a Different Color
Learn how
easy it is to apply color using colored pencils to a small, already quilted
piece, ready for painting. You don't have to be an artist, just try to paint
what you see. Don't shy away from using bold colors and stark contrast to
create a drama. You can learn how to do the shading in order to make your
designs look dimensional. It is a lot of fun and very relaxing. Irena feels
very passionate about what she is doing and loves sharing her experiences, the
good along with the bad, so you don't have to go through the pain of learning
the lessons the hard way like she did.

If you have never tried them, it is about time! You will
never regret it, once you understand the concept. The rest is just putting a
little effort into trying to get them looking exactly the way you like them.
The flexibility in creating quilting designs using these feathers cannot be
underestimated! Starting with the basics followed by little more advanced
designs, you will realize that you can do anything you wish using these
feathers on customers or your own quilts once you know how. You will learn how
to create those charming, unique plumes of feathers and feather swags, how to
fill any shape and form with these charming feathers. Irena will show you how
to make them look like they are about to leap off your quilt. You might stitch
them like a Pro with confidence if you practice.
