Rose Log Cabin
The design for this quilt occurred to me as I was piecing the Whirlwind Curved Log Cabin quilt. I noticed that the light areas in that quilt looked like roses. So with a quick twist here and there, I had a great starting point for creating this innovative Log Cabin variation.
The pattern includes cutting instructions on making a Queen size quilt.

Jack's Chain
If your scrap collection includes a wide array of colorful 1 1/2" wide
strips. This traditional pattern is the perfect place to use them. I
used many different light background colors throughout all of my
Nine-Patch units, and varied the dark and medium colors. While keeping
them the same within each Nine-Patch unit. If you choose to work with
squares rather than strips, you can also use different medium and dark
fabrics within the same Nine-Patch unit.
